A few good questions.

Do I need to understand equalizers?

No. Start with a preset and adjust it by ear. Studio Suite is there when you want more control.

Is this for Android?

Yes. Ultra EQ is an Android app installed through the direct APK download. Follow the app’s setup instructions for your device.

Is there a subscription?

No. The lifetime license is $6.99, with v1.x updates included. See the Terms for details.

I’m new to equalizers. What should I try first?

Start with Neutral and play a song you know well. Try a small bass adjustment, return to Neutral, then try a little more treble. Change one thing at a time so you can hear what it does. You don’t need to adjust every band.

I’m getting into music listening. Where should I start?

Make a short playlist with a favorite vocal track, an acoustic song, and something with a clear bass line. Listen once for enjoyment, then replay a section and focus on one detail: the voice, the drums, or a quiet instrument in the background. Use the headphones or speakers you already have—you can explore your taste before buying anything new.

What do bass, mids, and treble change?

Bass gives low notes and kick drums weight. Mids carry much of the voice and the body of instruments. Treble shapes cymbals, sparkle, and brightness. If the sound feels boomy or sharp, try reducing that area a little instead of raising everything else.

How do I know whether my EQ sounds better?

Compare the same short section with EQ on and off at a similar listening volume. Listen for clearer voices, bass that stays controlled, and details you enjoy. A louder setting can seem more impressive at first; keep the one you prefer after a few comparisons.

Do I need 128 bands or a different preset for every song?

No. Start with a preset and a few broad adjustments. More bands give you finer control, but they don’t automatically make music sound better. Try your settings across several songs before deciding whether you want to change them.
